• Translation projects are charged per source word.
• Pricing depends on: (1) subject-matter difficulty (operator manuals or medical devices software are more time-consuming and require a higher level of specialization than standard documents such as patient informed consents, clinical trial recruitment advertisements, etc.); (2) turnaround time (for rush assignments the quote may include a 25% additional cost); and (3) source and target format (for non-editable source documents or for source documents that need processing before translation, the quote may include per-hour additional costs; for complex layout such as tables and graphics, the quote may include per-hour additional costs).
• Computer-assisted translation discounts: When working with translation memory tools, we offer discounts for repetitions, 100% matches, and fuzzy (75%-99%) matches. In case of translation memories provided by the client, we will need to check the TMs before issuing a quote.
• One-linguist versus two-linguist jobs: One-linguist jobs (translation, editing, quality control, and hard-copy proofreading by a single linguist) are charged less than two-linguist jobs (translation and editing by a first linguist plus additional editing [revision] by a second native-speaking expert linguist, and quality control check plus hard-copy proofreading of the final, consensus version). When requesting a quote you should specify whether you'll need a one-linguist or a two-linguist job.
• Minimum fee jobs: Projects under 250 words are subject to a minimum fee and not to a per-source word rate.
• Amendment of ongoing jobs: The translation of amendments to source files for ongoing projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to additional charges.
• Amendment of already delivered jobs: The translation of amendments to source files for already delivered jobs will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to additional charges.
